Your questions answered
Common questions
How does payment work?
After a session, you will receive an email with a secure payment form within 24-48 hours. The payment is due 14 days after your session.
Do you see children or teenagers?
I do not counsel minors, but I am happy to refer you to a biblical counselor elsewhere who can meet your needs. If you have any more questions, you can contact me at contact@biblicalhelpandhope.com.
Do you do longer sessions?
At the moment, I only do 50-minute sessions. However, the plan is to allow more services in the future.
If I set up a virtual session, what do I need?
Virtual sessions are reasonably straightforward. You will need a camera and a microphone. Your biblical counselor will email you a Google calendar invite that will contain a Google Meet link. You must allow Google Meet access to your computer’s camera and microphone. Others may use their phones. It is whatever you prefer. If you are having trouble, feel free to reach out to the counselor who emailed you the link.
Where do I set up for my virtual session?
Preferably, you will want to be in a quiet and secluded area. Your sessions will be deep conversations that may include sensitive topics. If your counselor feels uncomfortable with the setting, he may choose to reschedule the session.
Where do you meet for in-person sessions?
Most in-person sessions will take place at Concord Baptist Church. Once your session is set up, your biblical counselor will send directions to the church office, where you will meet in the counseling room.
Note: You must live in the surrounding Chattanooga, TN, area to participate in an in-person session.
Do you take insurance?
Is your counseling confidential?
Confidentiality is an important aspect of the counseling process, and we will carefully guard the personal and private information you entrust to us as much as possible. We recognize the crucial importance of mutual trust within the counseling relationship. As a general rule, what we discuss stays between us.
However, we take a few exceptions to this rule, which are:
- To ensure that you are receiving consistent counsel and support, he might need to discuss your situation with appropriate leaders of our church.
- If there is indication that you or someone else might be in danger of harm unless others intervene, he might need to disclose information to civil authorities and to those in danger.
- In cases of suspected child or elderly abuse or neglect, he might need to report this to civil authorities.
For a more comprehensive understanding, please read the agreement form carefully when you set up your session.
